Bought this a year ago and not a lot of opportunity to use yet but tried to knead bread dough the other day (with dough hook) and seemed to bog down to the point I endeup hand kneading.

I love my new machine , it is a beast! I had a 5 quart for 23 years and invested in this new 7 quart. It is way quieter than the old one and the milkshake finish is gorgeous!

I still own my original bowl lift KitchenAid stand mixer from 1981 and it still works fine, but after 43 years, I decided to treat myself to the 7 qt. model. It's quite an upgrade! This new model has improvements too numerous to mention, but it's all good. The motor is more powerful, the design of the body of the mixer is more "contained" (for lack of a better word), and the pour shield is much, much easier to attach. I will still keep my 1981 KitchenAid mixer, but only for sentimental reasons.

After a year, I can say that it has elevated my abilities as a Cottage Baker. I am still finding it difficult to install the bowl on the pegs/clamp and get the beater out of a triple batch of cookies.
